Here in southeast and south-central Missouri, there is a strong belief in the significance of every life. The right to life is regarded as one of the most sacred rights, deserving protection. With Donald Trump as President, supporters see him as an advocate for the unborn. In his first week in office, he took steps to protect vulnerable members of society.

On January 24, President Trump reinstated the "Mexico City Policy," which prevents American tax dollars from funding foreign organizations that support or promote abortions. This policy has its supporters who opposed President Joe Biden's decision to rescind it earlier. They express gratitude for Trump's support of this policy's role in protecting the unborn.

The same day, Trump also reestablished the Hyde Amendment to prevent taxpayer dollars from funding abortions domestically. Some members of Congress have consistently supported maintaining this amendment, arguing that federal funds should not support organizations performing abortions.

The Trump administration furthered its pro-life stance by reducing enforcement of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act). Critics argue that under Biden, this act was used excessively against pro-life activists. A notable case involved a Pennsylvania man arrested after an altercation outside an abortion clinic. Nearly two dozen other activists faced convictions under this act, including an elderly woman with a past marked by surviving a concentration camp. President Trump issued pardons for these individuals.

In parallel with Trump's actions, House Republicans pushed forward their pro-life agenda by passing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This legislation mandates healthcare professionals present during failed abortion attempts to provide care equivalent to that given to any other infant born at the same age and ensure hospital admission.

Proponents assert their commitment to advocating for life and emphasize ongoing efforts to protect values and vulnerable members of society.
