Representative Jason Smith has expressed gratitude to President Donald J. Trump for approving a federal disaster declaration for Missouri. The declaration aims to provide crucial federal assistance to aid recovery efforts in the state.

"I’ve always said the People of Missouri love President Trump, and today’s news will be further reason," stated Representative Smith. He conveyed appreciation for the approval, emphasizing that it would assist many families, particularly in Missouri's 8th Congressional District, who have been affected by recent severe weather events.

Missouri has experienced significant devastation due to severe weather, including several violent tornadoes. These events have resulted in loss of life and left many without homes, power, or property.

Representative Smith highlighted President Trump's prompt response as indicative of his support for Missouri. "President Trump’s swift approval of this disaster declaration underscores his commitment and support for the State of Missouri and paves the way for a coordinated response from both the state and federal governments to begin deploying essential aid."

The request for a federal disaster declaration followed urging from Rep. Smith and other members of the Missouri delegation after the recent tornadoes.
