Rep. Jason Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 8th district since 2013, recently shared his views on social media regarding various political issues. Known for his active engagement in political discourse, Smith took to Twitter to express his opinions on several matters.

On July 3, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith tweeted a critical observation of Senate and House Democrats, stating: "Senate Dems House Dems Rambling incoherently at an empty room for hours..." This tweet reflects his disapproval of what he perceives as ineffective communication among Democratic lawmakers.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Smith commented on a legislative proposal titled "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill," highlighting its impact on tax credits for luxury electric vehicles. He stated: "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill immediately ends tax credits for luxury electric vehicles." This suggests that the bill aims to alter financial incentives related to environmentally friendly transportation options.

Additionally, Rep. Smith questioned the priorities of fellow congressman Rep. Hakeem Jeffries concerning immigration-related violence. He asked: "How many hours did @RepJeffries dedicate to speaking on behalf of the Americans whose lives were lost to senseless illegal immigrant violence?" Through this inquiry, Smith appears to be addressing concerns about public safety and immigration policy.

Jason Smith was born in St Louis in 1980 and currently resides in Salem. A graduate of the University of Missouri with a BS degree and Oklahoma City University with a JD degree, he has been serving in Congress since succeeding Jo Ann Emerson in 2013 after previously serving in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013.
