Farmington ranked 600th among cities in Missouri by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Farmington residents was an inflation-adjusted $20,136 per year. Farmington had 6,259 households in 2017, with a population of 18,047.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Country Life Acres. Country Life Acres's median income was $104,500 per year after adjusting for inflation – $84,364 more than Farmington. It had 39 households in 2017 and a population of 129.

Montreal had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Missouri, with a median income of only $2,499 per year. That was $17,637 less than the median income in Farmington at the time. Montreal had 44 households in 2017 and a population of 121.
