SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (7-11) fell Tuesday afternoon to Missouri State (10-5) by a final score of 11-1.
The Redhawks registered six hits but could not find timely hitting, as the Bears used a six-run eighth inning to seal the deal at Hammons Field.
Jevon Mason paced the Redhawks offense going three-for-four at the dish, including the only Redhawks run scored. Centerfielder Josh Cameron had two hits in the contest and the only RBI.
LHP Ethan Osborne (1-2) had a very solid outing, going 4.1 innings pitched, registering three strikeouts and only two earned runs over 20 MSU batters. Osborne took the loss in Tuesday's contest.
MSU pushed across six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning including a three-run homerun to put the game to bed.
Outfielder Spencer Nivens paced the Bears going 2-of-4 from the plate, including a triple and a RBI.
The Redhawks will be back in action against MSU on Wednesday, March 15, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m., CT. at Capaha Field.
