On October 1, the population of Israel was advised to take shelter due to an attack involving nearly 200 ballistic missiles from Iran. This event followed a shooting and stabbing incident in Tel Aviv, which resulted in seven deaths and eight injuries. Among the victims was a mother who died protecting her nine-month-old child.
The majority of the missiles were intercepted by Israel, highlighting the threat posed by Iran and its affiliated groups. This incident occurred nearly one year after another major attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
In the past year, Israel has been targeted by direct attacks from Iran and ongoing threats from groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthi rebels. The statement emphasizes that "Israel has every right to do what’s necessary to keep its people safe."

It is noted that in September 2023, $6 billion held in Qatar was made available to Iran by the Biden-Harris administration. Additionally, it mentions the lapse of a United Nations embargo on missiles and drones for Iran.

In Congress, efforts will continue to support Israel against threats from Iran while advocating for a return to previous U.S. strategies against Iran's regime.
