Saint Francis Foundation is organizing a collection of household and cleaning supplies for individuals affected by recent tornadoes. The gathered items will be distributed to residents in Butler, Wayne, and Perry counties during the foundation's upcoming Days of Caring events.

The foundation is seeking donations of various supplies. These include household items like trash bags, plastic storage tubs or totes, quart and gallon-sized storage bags, duct tape, toilet paper, and paper towels. Cleaning supplies such as disinfectant wipes, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer, and dish soap are also needed. Additionally, miscellaneous items including size 2 diapers, dry dog and cat food, sunscreen, and feminine products are being collected.

Donations can be delivered to the Saint Francis Healthcare System in Cape Girardeau at Entrance 8 parking lot on Tuesday, March 25 from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Members of the Saint Francis Foundation and Saint Francis Healthcare Facilities teams will manage the collection process.

Stacy Huff, Executive Director of the Saint Francis Foundation stated: “Several Saint Francis colleagues have been directly impacted by the storms, with some losing their homes and personal belongings. We are blessed to have internal support systems in place to assist our colleagues facing financial hardships due to natural disasters but want to also provide additional outreach to those communities affected. We appreciate your kindness and support to help our neighbors by donating items during this time of crisis.”

For further inquiries about donations, Laura Propst can be contacted at lpropst@sfmc.net or 573-331-5791.
