Saint Francis Healthcare System is organizing a community-wide Blessing of Hands initiative to honor healthcare workers. The event is open to all in the healthcare sector and the general public.

The Blessing of Hands ceremony serves as a moment for reflection and renewal, aimed at acknowledging the dedication of medical professionals such as nurses, doctors, caregivers, and support staff. The commemoration highlights the efforts of those who use their hands daily to provide healing, compassion, and care.

"Each day, our healthcare professionals use their hands not just to heal, but to comfort, support and connect," said Deacon Tony Peters, RN, BSN, Mission Integration Manager at Saint Francis Healthcare System. "This ceremony is a small but powerful way to pause and express our collective gratitude for their unwavering commitment and compassion."

The event will take place at Saint Francis Medical Center, Entrance 1, on Friday, May 9, from 9 am to 1 pm. It is open to all employees of Saint Francis, patients and visitors, healthcare workers, caregivers, and anyone from the larger community who wants to participate or observe.
