Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is collaborating with Resources to Recovery to present the Mega Brain exhibit and the "Neuroscience of Addiction" program on July 30 at the Ste. Genevieve Community Center. This event, part of the Resources to Recovery Conference, will be accessible to the public from 1 pm to 5 pm.

The Mega Brain is a large walk-through inflatable that provides an immersive look into the human brain's workings. It aims to educate young people and families about how drugs and alcohol affect the brain, with a goal of preventing substance abuse.

"We’re excited to bring this powerful tool to Ste. Genevieve," said Mary Bleckler, SGCMH community outreach coordinator. "The Mega Brain isn’t just an exhibit - it’s a conversation starter, a catalyst for awareness, and a proven method for sparking meaningful engagement around substance abuse prevention."

Attendees will learn about how addiction affects brain function, decision-making processes, and reward pathways in an engaging format.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote health education and mental wellness through innovative methods. It targets students, families, and community organizations.
