The Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is preparing for its annual Back to School Drive-Thru Fair, with registration now open. The event is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the hospital's back parking lot, located across from the fire department.

This initiative offers families with students from preschool to high school an opportunity to gather necessary school supplies. Parents can drive up through the circle drive at the back of the hospital to collect school supplies and receive health and educational information.

“The program has proven to be a big help to parents and students each year,” stated Tina Poston, marketing director at SGCMH.

Participants will receive backpacks filled with essential school items such as pencils, notebooks, pens, and erasers. A sack lunch will also be provided on the day of the event.

“It is a great way to help the students in the community get ready for school where the need is greater than ever,” added Poston. “Parents and students will drive-up, load up and have a leg-up to start the school year.”

Heavenly Hope will distribute boxes of nutritious food during the event. Additionally, mascots from two local school districts will greet participants, offering kids who display their school spirit a fun gift.

The event receives support from various community organizations and businesses including SGCMH Medical Staff, Heavenly Hope, Ste. Genevieve County Health Department, Healthy Blue, University of Missouri Extension Center of Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri Retired Teachers Association, and SGCMH Friends Foundation.

Registration is mandatory for participation in this event. Interested individuals can register online or by calling 573-883-7791.

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital serves as a critical access rural community hospital providing advanced technology and personalized healthcare resources. Further details are available on their website.
