Rep. Jason Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 8th district, has shared a series of tweets discussing "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill." This legislative proposal aims to address economic challenges and promote growth.

On July 8, 2025, Rep. Smith tweeted about the impact of President Biden's administration on inflation and costs faced by Americans. He stated that "Americans have faced record inflation and rising costs under President Biden." He emphasized that the proposed bill implements pro-growth policies intended to allow Americans to retain more of their earnings.

Later on the same day, he highlighted the connection between the new bill and previous tax cuts under former President Trump. In his words, "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill cements key pro-growth provisions of President Trump’s successful 2017 tax cuts that will fuel America’s economic growth."

Additionally, Rep. Smith pointed out a significant fiscal aspect of the legislation with another tweet on July 8: "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill is the single largest cut to mandatory spending in American history."

Smith has been an active member of Congress since 2013 after replacing Jo Ann Emerson. Before his congressional role, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013.
