Rep. Jason Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 8th district, recently shared his views on a significant legislative development through a series of tweets. The focus was on "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill," which he highlights as a major achievement for American workers and families.

On July 10, 2025, Rep. Smith tweeted about the financial benefits of the bill, stating that "The crucial tax cuts in The One, Big, Beautiful Bill deliver an estimated $7,200 in higher wages per worker and up to $10,900 more in take-home pay for families."

Later that day at 16:50 UTC, he addressed political opposition to the bill by tweeting that "Democrats opposed The One, Big, Beautiful Bill and preferred to threaten American businesses with job-killing tax hikes. Thankfully, Republicans came together to deliver permanent tax policies that help American workers. This is the largest tax cut for working families."

In another tweet at 17:43 UTC on the same day, Rep. Smith emphasized the historical significance of the legislation by stating "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill represents the largest tax cut in American history and with it, more economic freedom and security for all."

Jason Smith has served in Congress since replacing Jo Ann Emerson in 2013 and has a background in law from Oklahoma City University.
