Rep. Jason Smith, who represents Missouri’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on social media highlighting his recent activities and legislative priorities.

On September 6, 2025, Smith posted about attending an event with the President, stating: "Had a great night at the Inaugural Rose Garden Club Dinner with @POTUS! Honored to fight alongside him to MAGA! https://t.co/gLKfPC6Cof"

Two days later, on September 8, 2025, Smith addressed criticism from Democratic colleagues regarding tax policy. He wrote: "Rather than repeating the same tired and false attacks they used against the successful 2017 tax cuts, I would encourage my Democrat colleagues to actually read The One, Big, Beautiful Bill and then try to explain why they’re so adamantly against tax cuts for working class https://t.co/MWuvy9qyJi"

Later that day, he discussed feedback received during his farm tour: "During my annual farm tour, I heard from those I am honored to represent about how the REAL tax relief passed in The One, Big, Beautiful Bill will help working class Americans, farmers, and producers by keeping taxes low and creating more tax certainty. https://t.co/Xol3h2VDzp"

Smith has served in Congress since 2013 after replacing Jo Ann Emerson and previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013. Born in St Louis in 1980 and currently residing in Salem, Smith holds degrees from the University of Missouri and Oklahoma City University.
