Madison County had unemployment rate of 4.9% in 2021

Madison County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 270 people out of the 12,597 living in Madison County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Madison County has increased compared to the 4.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Madison County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 5,221 people who had a job during that time, 57 were employed in the Armed Forces and 5,164 belonged to the civilian labor force.
