Rep. Jason Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 8th district, has shared a series of statements via social media addressing various legislative and policy issues. Smith, who replaced Jo Ann Emerson in 2013 and previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013, provides insights into his political stance on immigration policies, tax legislation, and trade agreements.

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith criticized sanctuary policies in California for allegedly attracting criminals from abroad who harm American citizens. He stated that these policies have resulted in lost lives and advocated for passing a bill to address border lawlessness.
