Rep. Jason Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri’s 8th district, has taken to social media to express his views on recent legislative developments and political issues. With a background that includes service in the Missouri House of Representatives and academic credentials from the University of Missouri and Oklahoma City University, Smith is actively engaged in discussions surrounding The One, Big, Beautiful Bill.

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Smith addressed claims made by Democrats regarding The One, Big, Beautiful Bill's impact on working families. In his tweet, he stated "Democrats have claimed The One, Big, Beautiful Bill will hurt working families. However, data shows the opposite!" He emphasized that the bill proposes a 16.5% tax cut for Americans earning under $50,000 and highlighted that 70% of its tax cuts benefit American citizens.

Later that day, Smith commented on President Biden's administration policies concerning international taxation agreements. He remarked "During his administration, President Biden signed American taxpayers up to foot the bill for Europe’s socialist policies in what was known as the OECD global tax surrender." Smith asserted that The One, Big, Beautiful Bill introduces countermeasures allowing the U.S. to resist these policies.

In another post on June 16th, Rep. Smith directed his attention towards a governor whom he did not name but criticized for focusing on potential presidential ambitions rather than local issues such as crime in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He tweeted "Governor, I suggest focusing on the lawlessness and crime in LA and San Francisco instead of auditioning for the 2028 Presidential primary with stale talking points." He further noted public support for The One, Big, Beautiful Bill's provisions.
