Rep. Jason Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 8th district since 2013, recently shared his thoughts on social media regarding the legislative developments involving President Trump and a significant bill. Known for his tenure in both the U.S. Congress and the Missouri House of Representatives, Smith has been an active political figure since 2005.

On July 5, 2025, Rep. Jason Smith invited his followers to "Read my full statement after President Trump signed The One, Big, Beautiful Bill into law." This announcement was made shortly after the bill's signing.

The following day, July 6, he further elaborated on the significance of this legislation by stating that "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill delivers the promises President Trump made to the American people." He emphasized the fulfillment of commitments with "Promises made. Promises kept."

Later that day, Rep. Smith addressed potential opposition from Democrats regarding tax policies by asserting that "If it were up to the Democrats, EVERY American would’ve seen a tax increase." He credited Republicans in Congress for collaborating with President Trump to pass this bill and achieve a "tax CUT for ALL Americans."

Jason Smith was born in St Louis in 1980 and resides in Salem. A graduate of the University of Missouri and Oklahoma City University School of Law, he has been serving as a congressman since replacing Jo Ann Emerson in 2013.
