U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has voted in favor of the Senate’s fiscal year 2026 appropriations package, which includes provisions he advocated for to support Fort Leonard Wood and Missouri. The legislation contains language introduced by Hawley to safeguard the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood and requires the Army to replace outdated family housing on the base.
“Tonight, the Senate passed a spending bill that includes my amendment to protect the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood and require the Army to work to replace all aging family housing on post. This bill also includes support for vital services that Missouri farmers and ranchers rely on. These are big wins for Missouri,” said Senator Hawley.
Hawley has previously secured more than $100 million aimed at improving housing for service members at Fort Leonard Wood. Earlier this year, he also urged the Army not to downgrade staffing or essential services at the base’s hospital.
The appropriations bill addresses funding for military construction, veterans affairs, and agriculture programs across the country.
