Tetanus disease is preventable with a Dtap (children 6 years and younger) or Tdap (anyone 7 years and older) vaccine. Tetanus disease is caused by a bacteria that live in soil and manure. Symptoms can take anywhere from 3 to 21 days to develop and is sometimes fatal.
