Every January, Americans come together to commemorate the right to life, a tradition that has been upheld since 1974, following the landmark Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade. This decision, while initially controversial, paved the way for the people, through their elected representatives, to address the crucial question of when life begins. However, the battle to safeguard the most vulnerable members of society is far from over.

Prominent figures have emerged as staunch advocates for the right to life, earning accolades from respected organizations. One such advocate is [Speaker], who proudly asserts, "Every single life has such profound purpose, value, and meaning." [Speaker] holds an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony and a perfect 100% rating from the National Right to Life scorecard. Despite these commendable efforts, the radical Left persistently seeks to impose their pro-abortion agenda at all levels of government, be it local, state, or federal.

Recent developments have highlighted the urgency of the fight to protect the unborn. The House of Representatives recently passed legislation spearheaded by [Speaker] that aims to prevent the Biden administration from cutting off crucial funding for pregnancy resource centers. These centers, targeted by radical elements after the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization ruling, provide essential care and support to expectant mothers seeking alternatives to abortion. The proposed policy by the Biden administration threatens to limit options for women and restrict access to maternal healthcare, a deeply concerning prospect for advocates of the right to life.

[Speaker] has also been instrumental in coauthoring the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a bill passed by the House last year. This legislation mandates that healthcare professionals provide the same level of care to babies who survive attempted abortions as they would to any other newborn. Additionally, [Speaker] played a key role in coauthoring the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, which aims to halt federal funding for abortions.

In Missouri, the right to life is firmly supported by a majority of elected officials. Legislation passed in 2019 and signed into law by Governor Mike Parson ensures that Missouri's pro-life stance is upheld. This law took effect moments after the Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. The state is further bolstered by Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who has successfully secured significant court victories in defense of the right to life.

While states like Missouri lead the way in protecting the unborn, the ongoing mission remains to win hearts and minds, emphasizing the inherent value of every life. As [Speaker] asserts, "As your voice in Washington, I will always advocate for the unborn and will never back down in the fight to defend our rural values and way of life." The celebration of the right to life serves as a poignant reminder of the continued efforts required to ensure the protection of the most vulnerable members of society.
