Over the past three years, public frustration has grown regarding the Biden administration's border policies. Many Americans believe President Joe Biden inherited a secure border from former President Donald Trump and that his subsequent actions have exacerbated the situation.

Recently, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that securing the southern border was not Biden's responsibility, prompting criticism. "He broke our immigration system," said one critic. They argue that several of Biden's decisions have worsened the crisis, including reinstating catch-and-release policies, halting construction of Trump's border wall on his first day in office, and ending the Remain in Mexico policy.

In May, documents released by Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee indicated that over 400,000 illegal immigrants were flown into cities across the U.S. last year under the Biden administration. This influx has strained resources in many cities, adding pressure on housing, schools, and hospitals. The financial burden on taxpayers is estimated at $1,156 per person annually.

National security concerns have also been raised. More than 350 suspected terrorists were reportedly caught attempting to cross the southern border under Biden's tenure. A recent report highlighted an incident where a suspected member of an anti-Western terror group entered and roamed freely within the U.S. before being re-arrested and released again.

Additionally, there has been a significant increase in illegal immigrants from China crossing into the U.S., with 24,376 Chinese nationals encountered at the southwest border since October. Encounters with Chinese nationals surged by 8,500% from March 2021 to March 2024. Critics express concerns about espionage efforts by China and potential drug smuggling activities linked to Mexican cartels using Chinese precursors for fentanyl production.

Critics emphasize that it is the executive branch's responsibility to secure borders and view Biden’s stance as neglectful. One critic commented: "It just gives me another reason to believe that he is the worst president in American history." In Washington, opposition continues against what they describe as a radical effort to undermine national borders.
