U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced that he has secured language in the fiscal year 2026 appropriations bill aimed at protecting the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The provision also requires the Army to begin replacing aging housing for servicemembers and their families on the base.

“GOOD NEWS – I’ve secured language in the appropriations bill to PROTECT the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood AND to force the Army to start replacing houses on post for our servicemen and women and their families. Big win for Missouri,” Hawley stated.

Hawley has previously advocated for improvements at Fort Leonard Wood, securing more than $100 million for updated housing in past efforts. Earlier this year, he also pressed the Army to maintain operations at the base’s hospital.
