Rep. Jason Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 8th district since 2013, recently shared updates from his annual Farm Tour and meetings with agricultural associations in Missouri through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 15, 2025, Smith posted about his visit to Park Hills where he met with the Missouri Cattleman’s Association: "On my annual Farm Tour, I stopped in Park Hills where I met with the Missouri Cattleman’s Association. The following day at the State Fair, Smith highlighted discussions with representatives from another key agricultural group: "I enjoyed getting to catch up with representatives from the Missouri Corn Association at the State Fair where we discussed what Congress can do to better support America’s corn producers. Later that same day, Smith marked an anniversary related to federal economic policy: "Today marks the three-year anniversary of the Democrats’ Inflation Act becoming law. When Democrats controlled the entire federal government, they showered the wealthy and well-connected with tax breaks while expecting working families to foot the bill. Smith has represented Missouri's 8th District since replacing Jo Ann Emerson in 2013 and previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013. Born in St Louis in 1980 and currently residing in Salem, Smith holds degrees from both the University of Missouri and Oklahoma City University.
