Rep. Jason Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 8th district since 2013, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing key political developments and policy positions.

On August 19, 2025, Smith congratulated Catherine Hanaway on her new role as Missouri’s Attorney General, stating: "Congratulations to Catherine Hanaway on being appointed as Missouri’s next Attorney General! Smith has represented Missouri's 8th District in Congress since replacing Jo Ann Emerson in 2013. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013. Born in St Louis in 1980 and currently residing in Salem, Smith holds degrees from the University of Missouri and Oklahoma City University.
