U.S. Representative Jason Smith, who serves Missouri’s 8th district in Congress, recently highlighted local businesses and policy issues through a series of posts on social media.
On August 26, 2025, Smith shared his experience visiting a water bottling facility in Ava: "Had a great visit at Ava Springs Water Bottling Facility in Ava with owner Danny Fish. Danny and his team are investing in rural Missouri, creating jobs, and producing a high-quality product that represents the best of American small business. But like so many job creators," he wrote.
Later that day, Smith addressed international tax policy concerns: "Since their implementation, the Ways and Means Committee has called for swift action to fight harmful digital service taxes that unfairly discriminate against American digital businesses and innovators. I applaud President Trump for doing what the last Administration refused to", he posted on August 26.
On August 27, Smith visited another family-run business in Norwood: "Had a great visit at Hill Top Jerseys in Norwood with Michael and Kristen Keim and their 8 children, who are the heart and hands behind this outstanding family dairy. The Keims sell high-quality milk delivering directly to the consumer and run an on-the-farm store where they".
Smith has represented Missouri’s 8th district since 2013 after replacing Jo Ann Emerson. Before joining Congress, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013. Born in St Louis in 1980, Smith resides in Salem and holds degrees from the University of Missouri (BS) and Oklahoma City University (JD).
