Rep. Jason Smith, who represents Missouri’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to highlight legislative efforts and criticize opposing party policies in recent posts.

On September 2, 2025, Smith promoted the impact of a recent legislative package by stating, "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill has given small businesses growing confidence in their ability to make hiring and expansion plans for the future. Instead of empty storefronts, America’s Main Streets will boom with more ‘Hiring’ and ‘Grand Opening’ signs."

The following day, on September 3, Smith addressed public safety concerns and criticized Democratic lawmakers: "Cracking down on crime and cleaning up America’s streets should be a bipartisan issue. Instead, Democrats are completely out of touch and support criminals over the safety of American citizens."

Later that morning, Smith returned to economic policy issues with another post: "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill extended and built upon the successful 2017 Trump tax cuts that benefitted American businesses and workers. Thanks to The One, Big, Beautiful Bill, Amgen has invested $40 billion into American innovation and manufacturing. This investment, and others"

Smith has represented Missouri's 8th District since 2013 after succeeding Jo Ann Emerson. He previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2013. Born in St Louis in 1980 and currently residing in Salem at age 42, Smith holds degrees from the University of Missouri (BS) and Oklahoma City University (JD).
